Winter makes a comeback beginning tonight into next week

Old Man Winter isn’t ready to let go of its grip on the North Country just yet. The National Weather Service is predicting light snow accumulation, beginning tonight and continuing off and on through the weekend and potentially until Wednesday.

Tonight light rain will possibly change over to light snow after 8 p.m. and into the night as temps dip just below freezing. New snow accumulation is expected to be less than an inch.

On Friday, rain and snow will fall for most of the day with the high reaching near 39 degrees. The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, but again, accumulation is expected to be less than one inch.

Friday night, snow is predicted, mainly before 3 a.m., with a low around 27. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent, but only traces of the white stuff are expected to stick to the ground.

Saturday and Saturday night may bring a dusting of snow as both rain and snow fall throughout the day and evening.

Sunshine should rule on Sunday, with a high near 40, but looking ahead to next week, rain and snow combinations are predicted through Wednesday.
