CANTON – The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St., announced the results of the “TAUNY Knits 2019 Sweater Competition.”
“Best in Show” was awarded to Michale Glennon, Ray Brook. In the adult sweater category winners are: 1st place, Jan DeWaters, Potsdam; 2nd place Michale Glennon, Ray Brook; 3rd place Judy Simon, Canton.
In the children's sweater category: 1st place, Jo Ann DenBleyker, Canton; 2nd Place, Fran Moore, Saratoga Springs; 3rd Place, Sarah Crotty, Canton. Judges for the competition were Lamar Bliss, Lois Ann FitzRandolph, and Jackie Sauter, all experienced knitters.
Prizes for the competition were donated by Adirondack Fragrance Farm, Parishville; Bliss Massage, Madrid; Whitestone Farms, Chateaugay; and What A Yarn!, St. Albans, Vt.
All sweaters in the competition will be on display at The TAUNY Center through February 23, along with a display of Sweaters from the Past brought in by area knitters. Visitors are invited to vote for their favorite sweater for a People's Choice Award.
