CANTON -- Joseph White is seeking support in his run for one of four county coroner positions.
“As a native of St. Lawrence County, funeral director for 35 years and owner of O’Leary Funeral Service in Canton for the past 25, I feel I have the necessary experience to be a respectable, professional and efficient coroner,” he said in a letter.
“As resident of Russell and Canton, I am situated in a section of the county not currently covered by a coroner. Given the sensitivity surrounding the duties of coroner, it is my goal to be prompt, caring and understanding while tending to the situation at hand.”
White is one of four people running for the four spots. The only incumbent running is James Sienkiewycz of Massena. Also running are Brett Grandaw of the Potsdam area and Matthew Denner of Heuvelton.
