RICHVILLE: Richville Volunteer Fire Department hosting a painting party with “Blanc Canvas,” 6 p.m., attendees will take home painting of a cardinal; $45 per person; reservations: 315-528-7332; $45; proceeds benefit fire department.

Bull selection

CANTON: North Country beef producers have an opportunity to study bull selection by the numbers with Dr. Mike Baker, Cornell University, at the Extension Learning Farm, 7 p.m., Baker will talk about how to make selections from the bull stud catalog; will provide some hands-on case studies to help farmers get a handle on how to choose the sires they need; Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County is organizing the meeting and farm visits with Dr. Baker; Select Sire Power is providing pizza and beverages; class is free; pre-registration is appreciated; info: stlawrence.cce.cornell.edu or call the office at 315-379-9192 Ext 227 or 237 or email Betsy Hodge at bmf9@cornell.edu.
