Wet, cooler weekend on tap for St. Lawrence County

Widespread precipitation is expected to continue on and off this morning in the St. Lawrence Valley with a cooler weekend on tap, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Forecasters say the high today will be around 44 with rain expected to taper off this afternoon. An overnight low of 38 is expected with a 40% chance of showers between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Saturday will see a high temp around 48 with lights winds.

The forecast through Thursday is as follows:

Saturday

A 20 percent chance of showers before 10am. Cloudy, with a high near 48. North wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday Night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Light and variable wind.

Sunday

Partly sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday Night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Monday

Partly sunny, with a high near 60. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Monday Night

Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. South wind 5 to 7 mph.

Tuesday

A 40 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Southwest wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
