WANAKENA — The Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) released the results of its 2021 photo contest.
The photo “Wanakena Mill Pond” by Holly Woodworth won the grand prize in the contest.
This photo was taken on a clear, cold morning this past January.
Category winners were "Stair Building on the Red Sandstone Trail", by Blair Modore (Action Category); “Reflections, Grass River Wild Forest” by Holly Chorba (Artistic Category); “The Mountains around Salt Lake City, Utah” by Jeff Miller (Landscape Category); “Spring Delight” by Eileen Wheeler (Nature Category); and “Hiking Near Salt Lake City, Utah” by Jeff Miller (People Category).
Honorable Mention recognitions were awarded to Blair Madore for his photos “Hikers at Rainbow Falls” and “The Wonders of Lampson Falls,” both in the People Category; Jeff Miller for “Hiking Around Wellesley Island State Park” (Action); Holly Woodworth for “From Cat Mountain” (Landscape) and “Early Morning on Dead Creek Flow” (Artistic); and Eileen Wheeler for “Corn Field Visitor” (Nature) and “Snow Goose Stopover” (Action).
The photo contest was organized by Tom Ortmeyer of Potsdam, and judged by Geri Ames (Massena), Cyndi Grover (Colton), and Jean Giblin (Ottawa, Ont). All the photos can be viewed at www.adklaurentian.org.
