WADDINGTON — State Police members arrested Cassandra L. Collar, 28, of Waddington for endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, and issued a vehicle and traffic ticket for aggravated unlicensed operator 2nd.

State Police said that on March 20 around 4:06 a.m., Troopers responded to Irish Settlement Road for two children aged 10 and 6 years old being left home alone.

An investigation determined Collar left the residence in a 2007 Kia Spectra, with no supervision for her children.

Troopers were traveling east on State Highway 37, in the town of Waddington, when they observed the 2007 Kia Spectra in the Waddington rest area, with Collar in the vehicle.

While being interviewed Collar admitted to leaving the residence, driving, and not having a valid New York State Drivers license.

A vehicle inventory was completed, and drug paraphernalia was located inside of the vehicle.

Collar was arrested and transported to SP Massena for processing.

She was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Waddington Court for a later time in April.

Child Protective Service assisted the State Police during this incident and were able to get the children to a safe place, then later turned over to their father.
