A traffic stop on Friday, Nov. 25 on the Sissonville Road, Town of Potsdam, resulted in the arrest of a Waddington man who was allegedly in possession of approximately five ounces of cocaine, reported New York State Police.
Jonathan A. Hughes, 46, was arrested and charged with felony count of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, said police.
Hughes was remanded without bail to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility pending further court action.
The case is being handled by the NYSP Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET), with assistance from the NYSP Community Stabilization Unit, St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, St. Lawrence District Attorney’s office, and the United States Postal Inspection Service.
