POTSDAM – Voters overwhelmingly approved a 2.99% tax levy increase for the Potsdam Public Library on Wednesday, 211 to 30. The increase will amount to $16,664.
The results were posted on the library website shortly after voting concluded.
The increase will add three cents per thousand dollars of taxable property value, according to library officials.
Voters also reelected three trustees who ran unopposed -- Richard VanLeuven, David Trithart and Sandra McCloy.
U.S. citizens who have lived in the Potsdam Central School District for at least 30 days and are at least 18 years old are eligible to vote.
