OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg City School District voters approved the district’s budget 887-284.
District residents named Angela McRoberts and Renee Grizzuto to the school board with 806 and 682 votes respectively.
Voters approved the purchase of 12 student transport vehicles 896 to 282.
Additionally a proposition to form a capital reserve fund passed 914 to 257.
Finally voters approved a proposition to fund the Ogdensburg Public Library 797 to 405.
In recent weeks the debate over the funding the library has raised controversy in the city with mayor calling for voters to say no to an additional $225,000 for the city library. He said the vote was essentially a referendum on the current library administration and said he believed new leadership was needed. Meanwhile supporters of the library proposition sent dozens of letters to North Country This Week call for voters to say yes.
