MASSENA -- North Side Energy Center will hold a virtual open house where people can ask questions about their proposed project to put a large solar farm that would be partially located in each of the towns of Massena, Brasher and Norfolk.
The sessions will be 11 a.m. to noon and 5 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 16.
There will be two options to participate. People can go to https://services.choruscall.com/links/northsidesolar.html .
There will also be an option to participate by phone. The number to call will be 1-866-807-9684 at 10:40 a.m. or 4:40 p.m. for the respective sessions. Ask to "join the North Side Project call."
During the meeting, the North Side team and its subject matter experts will provide a project update and answer questions.

The lot where the project will go is on an approximate 2,200-acre chunk of land that is in the towns of Massena, Brasher and Norfolk. He said the actual solar farm will likely take up between 1,200 and 1,400 acres of that. They've worked out deals with local landowners for use of the lot, Scornavacca said.
At the November Massena Town Council meeting, Kris Scornavacca from NextEra Energy Resources, the project's parent company, talked about the solar farm and said they are planning to hire 200 or more people to build and install the solar farm.
