MASSENA – The Village of Massena will re-open a cooling center at the Massena Fire Station Friday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
The center was open Thursday for anyone that was feeling physical discomfort during the extremely high heat and heat index, according to police Chief Timmy Currier.
Anyone that needs to escape the heat is encouraged to go to the fire hall on Andrews Street, Chief Currier said.
The building is air conditioned and comfortable.
There will be water available and medical attention can be summoned should that need arise.
Anyone who needs transportation to the fire hall should call the Massena Police Department at 769-3577.
The building will be staffed by fire department drivers and volunteers.
