POTSDAM – Two candidates for local office who were also members of the village’s Dissolution Committee will be at the Potsdam Civic Center Community Room at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 to answer questions and talk about dissolution of the village with voters who might need help deciding on the issue.
Eleanor Hopke, candidate for Village of Potsdam Trustee, and Rose Rivezzi, candidate for Town of Potsdam Board, say they have come to different conclusions regarding what they think is best for the village.
Rivezzi is unopposed for election to the Town Board this year. Hopke is a candidate for one of two seats on the Village Board to be filled in November. Rivezzi and Hopke served together on the Dissolution Study Committee.
“We have talked a great deal with each other about dissolution and want to be available to help other people sort through some of the misconceptions and complexities,” said Rivezzi in a Letter to the Editor.
“We want voters to feel more comfortable making this important decision before them.”
They invite everyone, especially those who are undecided or have questions, to join them for a conversation about dissolution.
