OGDENSBURG -- United Helpers will close the floral and gift division of Basta’s Flowers & Landscaping.
Landscaping services, including snow removal and mowing services, will continue, UH said.
“Citing increased losses to online vendors and national chains, Basta’s joins a number of local florists unable to sustain in today’s economy,” UH said in a news release.
United Helpers purchased Basta’s Flower’s & Gifts from Joe and Jane Basta in 2014 when the couple decided to retire.
The closure is expected to occur in late October. Final liquidation of merchandise will begin soon.
Basta’s Flower Shop has been a member of the northern New York community for more than 70 years, UH said.
