State police say they arrested two Bombay residents Tuesday following a larceny complaint at Malone’s Walmart, 3222 U.S. Highway 11.

Troopers responded to the reported larceny around 5:30 p.m. and the suspects were reported to be leaving the scene in a vehicle.

Police reportedly located and stopped the vehicle as it was pulling out of the Walmart parking lot.

State police and the Malone Village Police attempted to stop the vehicle operated by 32-year-old Nathan A. Bigtree. However, the pursuit was terminated in the town of Bombay area, officers said.

Bigtree and 32-year-old Tyler A. Gray, were arrested when they were found with a variety of stolen merchandise, totaling over $1,200, troopers allege.

Further investigation revealed that Gray had been previously banned from all Walmart property due to a past incident of shoplifting, police said.

Gray and Bigtree were both charged with fourth-degree grand larceny.

Gray was additionally charged with third-degree burglary. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Bigtree was also wanted by Franklin County probation on a warrant for previous incidents of shoplifting and for a pursuit with state police that took place Feb. 14, around 9 p.m., subsequent to a larceny in the village of Malone, police said.

Bigtree was also charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and petit larceny, police said.

He was arraigned at the Town of Malone Court and remanded to the Franklin County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail, officers said.
