Updated Sept. 16 to correct the charges related to marijuana possession. The story originally incorrectly reported the subjects were in possession of more than a pound of pot because state police mistakenly stated they were charged with second degree unlawful possession of marijuana. Under state law, the second degree possession charge is applied only to those found to be in possession of more than a pound. North Country Now regrets the error.

OSWEGATCHIE -- Two Antwerp residents were cited for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on state Route 812.

Around 11 p.m. Thursday, troopers say they arrested Jordin J. Hazelton, 25, and Lane J. Hazelton, 23, of Antwerp on the misdemeanor charge.

The operator of the vehicle, Jordin Hazelton, was also ticketed for failure to dim vehicle headlights and driving with a suspended drivers license, troopers said. Hazelton was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Troopers say they found them with pot, a glass smoking device and a buprenorphine hydrochloride pill.

They were released with appearance tickets for Oswegatchie Town Court on Oct. 10 at 3:30 p.m.
