OGDENSBURG – TV star Mark Valley, a native of Ogdensburg, will take up arms in the American cause at the annual War of 1812 re-enactment of the Battle of Ogdensburg, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 19 and 20, on Lighthouse Point.
Visitors to the winter battle can expect to see Valley in the ranks of the First U.S. Rifle Regiment Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1:30 p.m.
Valley’s West Point training and Gulf War experience was not the usual preparation for the shoulder-to-shoulder and line-against-line tactics used during the War of 1812, but he got a taste for re-enacting last summer when he joined the French and Indian War re-enactment on Lighthouse Point.
Forsyth’s Rifles, the winter-battle organizers, have a full slate of Saturday activities for re-enactors and the public. All involved hope Valley’s schedule leaves him time to enjoy the events off the battlefield.
Valley is the star the Fox Network's hit series Human Target.
He formerly starred with William Shatner on Boston Legal, and has appeared in Fringe, Keen Eddie and other shows.
