State Police made New Year's Eve driving while intoxicated arrests in Potsdam and Massena early Saturday.

John A. Carlin, 21, of Norfolk, was released to a third party after troopers stopped and charged him on Rt. 56 in the town of Potsdam at about 12:20 a.m. He was given tickets for first-offense DWI and failure to keep right.

Jonathan L Francis of Ontario was stopped by troopers along St. Rt. 37 in the town of Massena shortly before 3 a.m. He was charged with first-offense DWI, failure t keep right, and speeding, and was released to a third party.
