BRASHER FALLS -- The Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce is getting ready for Winter Carnival 2011 from Thursday, Feb. 17 to Sunday, Feb. 20, and is running a contest for a new design for the carnival button.
These buttons are used as tickets to get into some events and they become collector items. The prize is $100 and recognition throughout the Tri-Town area.
If you live in one of the three towns -- Lawrence, Brasher or Stockholm -- you are eligible to enter.
Some rules: the theme “Back To The Fifties” must be depicted in the work; only original hand drawn/painted or digital work that can be shrunk to a 2 ½ inch round button will be accepted; only four colors may be used; the medium is your choice but beware of media that may smudge such as chalk pastels; entries must be in by Dec. 15; name, address, phone number and a short statement about the design must be included with the drawing. There is no age limit nor limit on the number of entries per individual.
Mail entries with name, address and phone number to The Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 297, Brasher Falls, NY, 13613.
