MASSENA -- Three teens, two from Hogansburg and a Canadian, have been charged with breaking into the St. Lawrence Centre and stealing merchandise and cash, according to state police.

On Monday around 9:40 a.m., troopers say they responded to a complaint that several stores in the mall had been burglarized. They say they "numerous" exterior doors to the mall had been forced open, and merchandise and cash were stolen from retailers.

On Tuesday morning around 1:37 a.m., troopers say a mall security guard contacted them and reported three males were inside the mall. Troopers say they told the guard to leave the building and wait for patrols. Police say they found a UTV driven by the suspects parked outside the mall, and a door had been pried open. Troopers say they entered the mall, found the suspects, and apprehended them after a foot chase. The UTV was later found to be stolen, troopers allege.
