POTSDAM -- Three persons have been arrested for stealing checks from a local business, then forging and cashing them for a total of more than $11,000 at banks throughout St. Lawrence County.
Following a lengthy investigation, village police acting in cooperation with the county Sheriff's Department, arrested Joseph A. Rousaw, 38, Massena, and Andrew K. Garrow, 27 Norwood, for third degree burglary and third degree grand larceny on Monday.
Shawn L. McGregor, 36, currently an inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, was also charged with two counts of third degree burglary and one count of third degree grand larceny in connection with the case, police said.
The investigation stems from a burglary reported in June 2012, police said.
Rousaw was sent to the county correctional facility without bail, police said
Garrow was released under the supervision of the county Probation Department, police said.
