Temps to creep up to more seasonal levels by Saturday

Temps in the county should be climbing to more seasonal levels by the weekend and snowfall will likely be light, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS predicts seasonably cold and mainly dry weather through Friday. Temperatures will begin to moderate by Friday night into Saturday as winds trend southerly over time.

Tonight, the temperature may drop to a low of around 3 degrees, while wind chill will make it feel more like -8.

There’s a chance of snow showers Friday, but the day will be primarily partly sunny with a high near 20. A west wind of 10 mph, however, will make it feel more like -7. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.

A weak low pressure system passing north of the region on Saturday may bring a renewed threat of snow showers to the area, but accumulations are expected to be light.

The NWS predicts temps during the day Saturday will rise to 32 and only sink to 18 degrees at night.

Sunday, there’s a 60 percent chance of snow, but temps will likely rise to close to 35 degrees during the day.
