POTSDAM — The Village of Potsdam has started the design process for its $4.5 million Market/Raymond Historic District Streetscape Enhancement and Downtown Riverwalk Trail, Village Mayor Reinhold J. Tischler announced today (Monday, March 13).
The enhancement and trail project will be funded through the village’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.
Tischler said the Village’s Project Advisory Committee and Village staff held a kick-off meeting on March 2, with the project’s designers led by LaBella Associates landscape design and urban planning team, and sub-consultants from CLA Sites, Aubertine and Currier Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors and Jade Stone Engineering.
The next step in the design process will require a topographical instrument survey of the proposed route for the Downtown Riverwalk Trail.
Aubertine and Currier’s land surveyors will be working along Maple Street, Sandstoner Drive, Market Square Mall and Raymond Street on March 14, 16, 20, 21, 22 and 23.
Motorists and cyclists should use extra caution when traveling through this area of downtown Potsdam while surveyors are engaged in field work.
