POTSDAM -- The SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team has received a 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Ethics Gold Award, the organization announced at its recent annual convention in Baltimore.
The Bears were one of six teams in the nation to receive the honor, which is earned by drawing no red or yellow cards during the season. This is the first time Potsdam has earned Gold Award. It has won the Silver Award (five yellow cards or less, no reds) for each of the three previous seasons.
Head coach Tim Moody's team posted a 10-10 record in 2010, matching the program record for wins in one season. During the season, Moody broke the record for most wins by a head coach in school history.
The Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award was given to 74 college teams around the nation.
