Rainfall finally ended this morning with clearing skies allowing for a very nice fall day across the St. Lawrence Valley today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Skies will be sunny today with a high near 56 and an overnight low near 38, the service says.
Gusty winds are expected to materialize on Sunday from the south/southwest with many places seeing wind gusts of 15 to 30 mph.
Warmer air will accompany these stronger winds as we will see temperatures warm into the mid 50s to lower 60s.
It still looks like we will remain in a very unsettled pattern through next week with a series of cold fronts expected to push across the region. However, it looks we should be mild through next week with temperatures hovering around 5-7 degrees above normal.
The forecast through Friday is as follows:

Partly sunny, with a high near 60. South wind 9 to 14 mph.

A 40 percent chance of showers after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. South wind 9 to 11 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Monday
Showers likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Monday Night
Showers likely, mainly after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 44. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
