HAMMOND — Hammond Central School celebrated student interdisciplinary learning and academic excellence at their districtwide Learning Fair Tuesday, March 14.
Classrooms from UPK-12th Grade developed educational projects for the school community to come in and enjoy.
While at the Learning Fair families were able to play games and participate with interactive movement activities.
“It was great to see the students learning through movement and playing with large size board games to enhance their academic skills,” school officials said.
The newly formed Nutrition class also demonstrated how to make cheese and had snacks on hand for attendees to enjoy.
Several of the games/activities including JENGA (wooden block stacking game) and SORRY (the giant board game) were received on behalf of the St. Lawrence Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Project, which is funded by the New York State Department of Health.
The collaboration leading up to the event was a districtwide effort.
“The culmination was a terrific day for everyone involved and a wonderful demonstration of what an exceptional faculty and staff the Red Devils are in Hammond,” officials said.
