Assemblyman Dan Stec, R-Queensbury, announced that the Franklin County Republican Party has officially endorsed his 45th Senate District campaign.

Assemblyman Stec is one of the candidates attempting to succeed Sen. Betty Little. Colton Republican Kevin Beary is also running to replace Little, who is retiring. Clinton County Treasurer Kimberly Davis, a Democrat, announced her candidacy in May.

In its support for Stec, the Franklin County Republican Party Chairwoman Shelley Mulverhill noted his record of advocacy on behalf of his constituents and his work ethic for the people he represents.

“Thank you to the Franklin County Republican Party for its strong support of my campaign for State Senate,” Stec said. “This year’s election is of vital importance to all our North Country communities. I look forward to partnering with the hardworking men and women in Franklin County to ensure that we continue to receive the honest, accountable leadership our residents and small business owners deserve.”

“When it came to selecting a candidate to endorse for the State Senate’s 45th District, Dan Stec was the obvious, best choice,” said Franklin County Republican Chairwoman Shelley Mulverhill. “He has a strong reputation in the Assembly for his legislative record, work ethic and devotion to his constituents. Dan will make an outstanding successor to Senator Little and we look forward to working with him in the months and years to come.”

The 45th Senate District is comprised of all or part of six different counties. Stec has received official endorsements from the Republican Party in four of the six: Clinton, Essex, Warren and now Franklin. The St. Lawrence and Washington County parties are expected to make their endorsements within the next few weeks.

The 45th District includes the towns of Parishville, Clare, Colton, Hopkinton, Lawrence and Piercefield in St. Lawrence County, plus to the east, Franklin, Clinton, Essex, Warren and Washington counties.
