GOUVERNEUR — The State Police Forensic Identification Unit and Underwater Recovery Team are searching the Oswegatchie River and riverbanks near the Main Street bridge in the village of the Gouverneur.
They are focusing their search for any evidence related to the homicide of Ronald E. Durham, 72, of Gouverneur.
Durham was reported killed by a sharp force injury to his neck and was found in the East Side Cemetery on Van Buren Road around 8:20 a.m. on Feb. 11.
As a result of an investigation of Durham’s death, with the assistance of the Gouverneur Police Department, Frederick A. Wing, 22, Gouverneur, was arrested for one count of murder in the second-degree.
Wing was arraigned in the Town of Rossie Court and ordered held in the St. Lawrence County Jail, without bail, pending future court appearances.
This investigation remains ongoing.
