State Senator Joseph A. Griffo (R-IP-C, Rome) today announced that the New York State Association of Police Benevolent Associations, Inc., an organization comprising more than 50 member units and more than 40,000 police officers in New York State, has unanimously endorsed his candidacy for re-election as New York State Senator for the 47th senatorial district.
“I am honored to have this endorsement, because I know the tremendous dedication of the men and women who put their lives on the line to protect the people of our communities in these very difficult times,” Griffo said. “I have always made it a priority that our government must support the essential public safety functions in our communities. I have worked for and authored legislation that seeks to upgrade the penalties for those who fail to obey police officers and for those who interfere in any way with a police officer in the performance of his or her duty. To me, this endorsement is a response to what I have done, and also an incentive to continue to do more to help our police officers as they protect every one of us.”
“I thank the New York State Association of PBAs for this endorsement, and all the member officers for the thankless dedication they show every day on the streets of our communities,” Griffo said.
