POTSDAM -- State Police have arrested 20-year-old Kevin C. Ernest of Glen Cove, N.Y., following an investigation of a larceny that occurred at Walmart in Potsdam in December 2019.
This was the third and final arrest in this larceny investigation, State Police said.
On Dec. 11, 2019, shortly before 10 p.m., three unidentified males entered the store and stole four ROKU televisions valued at $118 each, and eight Phillips 32-inch televisions valued at $128.00 each. The three males each pushed a shopping cart with the televisions past the front check-out area and exited without paying.
Following identification of the suspects, on Feb. 19, 2020, State Police arrested an 18-year-old male from Bronx, as well as 19-year-old Aboubacar Camara, from Manhatten. They were each charged with one count of fourth-degree grand larceny and released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Potsdam Court.
An arrest warrant was issued for Ernest. He turned himself in to State Police on Aug. 5, and he was arraigned by the Morristown Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
Ernest is to reappear before the Potsdam Town Court at a later date.
State Police were assisted by the SUNY Canton University Police.
