ST. REGIS FALLS – The St. Regis Falls Central School District will pay a fine to address issues identified in an audit of the district’s transportation activities.
Auditors from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles reviewed the district’s transportation oversight and found issues with how the paperwork was completed, including drivers not being removed from the district’s official roster when they retired and physical forms with signatures in the wrong place.
The district will pay $3,800 in fines to the state. District leaders are working to addressing the issues found through the audit and ensure that all of the district’s transportation oversight is current and complete.
The head of the district’s transportation department when the issues occurred has since left the district.
