CANTON — In an effort to attract new applicants, as well as expand and diversify the workforce, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is releasing a recruitment video.
This video is a creative tool that will provide potential candidates a glimpse of the work environment and opportunities available in the Sheriff’s Office, a press release from the office said.
“Our members are our most valuable asset. We look for qualified men and women who want to serve their communities,” said Sheriff Brooks J. Bigwarfe, “And it is important for potential candidates to understand that choosing a career in law enforcement can be meaningful and fulfilling.”
Over the last two years, the sheriff’s office has hired 12 additional deputies and is currently in the process of filling more vacancies before academy training begins in January 2023.
A requirement of attending the academy in January is that an individual must have taken a civil service test and be on the list.
For future academies, additional tests will be scheduled to be given.
