St. Lawrence County senior students to graduate next week

St. Lawrence County seniors will receive their diplomas next week in ceremonies that will look different than previous years. Graduations will take place outdoors.

Anyone wishing to attend a graduation ceremony should contact district officials for exact COVID-19 protocols as they may differ from school to school.

Below are dates, times, locations, and speakers for local school districts.

Massena Central School

Graduation at Massena Central will take place June 25 at 8:30 p.m. Massena Central named Luke von Borstel as their valedictorian and Jacob Bressard as their salutatorian for 2021. No speakers were announced.

Ogdensburg City School

Ogdensburg City School Seniors will walk the stage on June 26 at 6 p.m. outside on the Ronald N. Johnson Football Field. Each graduate can have up to four guests attend. Speakers will include valedictorian Sloane Ryan, salutatorian Deanna Fenessey, class president Trent Sargent and Keighan Sias.

Brasher Falls Central School

Senior students at Brasher Falls Central will walk the stage June 25 at 6 p.m. The 2021 valedictorian is Chantel McCarthy and the salutatorian is Bailey Brothers.

Speakers will include superintendent Chris Rose, valedictorian Chantel McCarthy, salutatorian Bailey Brothers, senior class vice president MaCaleb Earle, and guest speaker Christian Normal, high school social studies teacher.

Heuvelton Central School

Graduation at Heuvelton Central will take place at 11 a.m. on June 26. Honor students include Drew Demers, Lara Martin, Miya Bentley and Meaghan Pierce. All of them will be speakers at the ceremony.

Lisbon Central School

Lisbon Central School is planning its graduation for June 25 at 7:30 p.m. Speakers will include valedictorian Rachel Beldock, salutatorian Riley Baxter, class president Teagan Jordan, superintendent Pat Farrand, and high school principal Lauren Moody.

Madrid-Waddington Central School

The district’s 2021 graduation ceremony is set for 6 p.m. on June 25 at Madrid-Waddington Central School. Speakers include superintendent Eric Burke, school board members Tina Bush and Charlie Grant; and class leaders Emma Maskell, Phoebe Zagrobelny, Emily Pandel and Emma Plumley. School class leaders this year include Benjamin Averill, Taylor Betting, Riley Burke, Thomas Cafarella, Lydia Kingston, Hannah Kirby, Fletcher LaValley, Emma Davis, Madison Hicks, Keli Kingston, Sebastian Rubin, Sean Shannon, Jessica Evans, Emma Maskell, Emily Pandel, Emma Plumley, and Phoebe Zagrobelny.

Morristown Central School

Morristown Central graduation will be held June 26 at 6 p.m. This year MCS announced Rylie Showers as their 2021 valedictorian and Hailey Ward as their salutatorian. Speakers will be superintendent Staci Vaughn, principal David Doe and high school social studies teacher Karen Basham.

Canton Central School

Canton Central seniors will walk the stage June 25 at 5 p.m. This year Canton Central recognized its Academic Top 10 student and their Outstanding Vocational Student for the Class of 2021. There was a tie for second place, so the district decided to honor 11 students in their top 10. The students honored are: Rachel Ballard, Dharma Crabtree, Leopold Crouse, Nicholas Estabrooks, Ethan Hu, Lexis Huiatt, Samuel Moses, Sam Pfotenhauer, Lianna Pront, Bella Sanderson, Natalie Warner and vocational student Meredith Jones. The ceremony will be live-streamed by Good Guys Production at https://video.ibm.com/channel/qejSeUtnW9G.

Colton-Pierrepont

Seniors at CPCS will receive their diplomas at 7 p.m. on June 25. Their valedictorian for 2021 is Shiloh DeGray and their salutatorian is Callie Richards.

Hermon-DeKalb

Hermon-DeKalb Central School will host its graduation ceremony June 25 at 7 p.m. with speakers to include superintendent Mark White, Kyler O’Donnell and Brianna Grant. The Green Demons valedictorian this year is Elaine Clark and their salutatorian is Emery McQuade.

Madrid-Waddington

The district’s 2021 graduation ceremony is set for 6 p.m. on June 25 at Madrid-Waddington Central School. Speakers include superintendent Eric Burke, school board members Tina Bush and Charlie Grant; and class leaders Emma Maskell, Phoebe Zagrobelny, Emily Pandel and Emma Plumley. Norwood-Norfolk Central School will hold its graduation ceremony June 26 at 5 p.m. in the elementary gym. The Class of 2021 valedictorian is Kiera Fetter and the salutatorian is Sydney Daniels. Speaks will include superintendent Jamie Cruikshank, BOE president Artie Fregoe, Kiera Fetter, Sydney Daniels and Steve Lashomb.

Parishville-Hopkinton

The Panthers will hold their 2021 graduation ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on June 26 outdoors. Their valedictorian this year is Emma Bloom and their salutatorian is Kelly Bloom. Both will also be speakers at graduation, along with superintendent Willam Collins, teacher Alex Carvill, and principal Steven Coffin.

Potsdam Central

Potsdam Central School plans to host its 2021 graduation ceremony at 9 a.m. on June 26. PCS honored the following students for their academic success Nadia Cheng, Skye Crocker, Abigail Hughes, Ethan Plague, and Sylvi Teich. Also, Julia Basford, Sophia Compeau, Natalie Cowen, Anika Crosslin, Danielle Date, Adam DiMarco, Jochanaan Fair-Schulz, Alton Isaman, Lily Plague, Emma Rutley, Ryan Shipp, Katherine Theobald, and Scott Visser. Also, Alyssa Allen, Haden Ashley, Taylor Benda, Jessica Blanchard, Kayla Buckley, Raymond Burroughs, Daisy Collins, Katharine Cowen, Kyton Deon, Tianna Jacobs, Nicolas Nelson, Grace Mattimore, Nathan McFarland, Italia Milani, Julian Potter, William Roda, Megan Saber, Katherine-Jane Seymour, Keely Towne, Margaret Wallace, and Nicholas Wallace.

Speakers will include Abigail Hughes, class president; Skye Crocker, student-elected speaker; Julia Basford, student-elected speaker; Stephen Knight, commencement speaker; Mark Bennett, high school principal; and Joann Chambers, superintendent.

Clifton-Fine Central

Clifton-Fine Central School will hold its graduation ceremony June 26 at 11 a.m. The graduation will take place outdoors on the athletic fields. This year the Class of 2021 valedictorian is Aidan Benzel and the salutatorian is Garrett Simmons. No speakers have been announced yet.

Edwards-Knox Central

Graduation at Edwards-Knox School District is slated for June 26 at 11 a.m. and will take place outdoors. This year the valedictorian for the Class of 2021 is Morgan Wheat and the salutatorian is Shea Cicciarelli. Speakers will include Penny Allen from the school board, salutatorian Shea Cicciarelli, valedictorian Morgan Wheat, students Hailey Matthews and Lucy Frary, high school principal Amy Sykes will present awards and Erin Woods, superintendent, will present the class of 2021.

Gouverneur Central School

The Class of 2021 will graduate June 25 at 7 p.m. at Gouverneur Central School during an outdoor ceremony. The school recognizes an honor group of students. Speakers this year will be Cory Wood, Corryn Canell, Hope Leader, Reese Morenz, and school board president Dave Fenlong.

Hammond Central School

Hammond Central will hold its 2021 graduation ceremony on June 27 at 2 p.m. outdoors. The HCS valedictorian is Norah Pease and the salutatorian is Connor McRoberts.

Harrisville Central

Graduation at Harrisville Central is set for June 26 at 11 a.m. and will take place outdoors. This year the district valedictorian is Brady Hall and the salutatorian is Amy Manchester. Speakers will include Brady Hall, Amy Manchester, Talon LaParr, the district’s top vocational student; Eric Luther, high school principal and Robert Finster, district superintendent.
