CANTON — St. Lawrence County is set to receive a grant through the state’s STOP-DWI program.
Legislators on the services committee officially signed off on the plan to apply for the grant during the committee Jan. 23 meeting.
“This is an annual grant that we submit for the STOP-DWI program. The budget for the STOP-DWI was approved Dec. 5 last year and the plan was submitted to the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee,” said Jay Ullrich, director of the Community Services Department.
Officials say the STOP-DWI plan was requested by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee for a time period of Jan. 1, 2023 through Dec. 31, 2023.
The resolution passed unanimously and will now require approval by the full board during the next meeting in February.
