St. Lawrence County realtors board announces guidelines for showing, listing during pandemic

People looking to buy real estate will have to use virtual showings and listings, according to a news release from The St. Lawrence County Board of Realtors.

Virtual showings and listings can be done via video with photos provided by the realtor or the seller.

Appraisals and home inspections can be done as required by the lender as a condition of financing. Realtors should not attend either.

Real estate offices are to remain closed to the public with as limited interaction with others as possible. The board’s news release says they are encouraging realtors to continue to work from home whenever possible.

“The St. Lawrence County Board of Realtors cares about the health and safety of our clients, customers and community above all else,” the board’s statement said. “We are utilizing technology more than ever and are committed to providing essential housing services to our clients and customers. I am so proud of our members as we embrace technology not only to show and list properties but to complete closings that were already under contract before the NY on Pause. Above all else, we are staying home. Staying safe and stopping the spread of COVID-19.”
