St. Lawrence County Public Transit will continue to waive fares on all routes until August 1. On this date, travel for runs will return to the low fee of $2 each way.
Anyone using Public Transit must wear a face covering or shield at all times and have it placed over their nose and mouth prior to entering the bus. People with health conditions unable to wear a mask are required to wear a face shield. These measures remain in place as a continued effort to support the health and safety of passengers and drivers. In observance of Independence Day, SLC Public Transit will be closed on July 3.
Per Department of Health guidance, SLC Public Transit has now opened fully and riders may access the bus for any travel purposes. The vehicles are deep cleaned daily and between shifts. Seats will continue to be limited and spaced out.
Face shields are available on Public Transit or through St. Lawrence County’s Emergency Management Office: 315-379-2240.
St. Lawrence County’s Public Transit System provides transportation throughout most towns in the County from Monday to Friday. Routes are listed at http://slcnypublictransit.com/transit-schedules.
Buses are wheelchair accessible, bicycle racks are available, and there is free Wi-Fi service. Passengers who live more than 3/4 of a mile from a Transit stop may access Volunteer Transit Center’s First Mile Last Mile service to get a ride to their nearest bus stop. Customers needing this service may call Public Transit at 315-386-2600 on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are on Facebook @SLCPublicTransit for additional information.
