St. Lawrence County Public Health reports 247 new COVID cases

St. Lawrence County Public Health reports 247 new cases from Saturday, Oct. 9 through Tuesday, Oct. 12.

COVID by the numbers in St. Lawrence County:

Total number of confirmed positives to-date: 11,401

Active cases: 536

Released from isolation: 10,743

Hospitalizations: 21

Deaths: 122

Total number of tests performed to date: 410,263

% of Fully vaccinated in St. Lawrence County: 54

% of St. Lawrence County positivity rate: 6.09

The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is currently holding COVID-19 Vaccination clinics every Monday and Wednesday at 80 St. Hwy 310, Suite 2, Canton. To make an appointment, call 315-229-3452.

Vaccinations are available at local pharmacies.

If you or someone you know is homebound and is interested in receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, call Public Health at 315-386-2325.

Pfizer Booster Clinics - Appointments are required for the Booster Clinics.

Testing is being done at the locations listed below. Some urgent cares and provider offices are also performing testing. Testing is by appointment only.

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported 51.2% of all eligible individuals in Akwesasne’s southern portion are fully vaccinated.

In total, 26.3% of individuals 12-15 years old are full vaccinated, 50.3% in the 16-17 year old bracket and 53.3% of 18 years and up are full vaccinated.

With the current vaccination rate of 51.2%, the first milestone vaccine incentive drawing will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 12:00 p.m.

The drawing will be streamed live on Akwesasne TV’s and the Tribe’s Facebook pages.

Five names will be drawn to receive $1,000 for being vaccinated.

Anyone who was previously vaccinated is eligible for the prize drawing.

The next drawing will take place when the vaccination rate reaches 55% and then at every 5% increment thereafter.
