For the fifth consecutive year, Community Bank celebrated National Good Neighbor Day on Sept. 28. Branches across the bank’s four-state footprint marked the day by donating to community causes and organizations on a local level to help make an impact close to home.
In total, Community Bank donated $56,500 to local nonprofits in New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Massachusetts.
Locally, 10 branches in St. Lawrence County contributed $2,500 to local nonprofits of their choice, including:
• Amvets Ladies Auxiliary 265 to support its scholarship program and community initiatives
• First United Methodist Church to support its senior citizen luncheon
• Northern New York Bassmasters to support their initiative to get children of all ages out on the water fishing and teach them lifelong skills
• Ogdensburg Snackpack Program Inc. to support its mission to provide healthy weekend snacks to children in need
• Renewal House to support victims of domestic violence
• St. Peters Outreach to help families in need
• The New Beginnings Clothing and Food Outreach Inc. to support its food pantry
• United Methodist Church to support its senior citizen luncheon
