CANTON -- Sandy Santamoor County Clerk Elect will appoint Melissa Friedel Deputy County Clerk.
Santamoor currently serves as Deputy St. Lawrence County Clerk and was recently elected to the clerk’s position where she is set to take office in January.
The county clerk has sole discretion in naming the deputy.
According to Santamoor Friedel has been with the County Clerk’s Office for 11 years.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Melissa’s caliber and experience to step up and help lead the County Clerk’s Office and four DMV Offices,” Santamoor said in a prepared statement. “She is knowledgeable in many aspects of the department, is focused on customer service and has a proven work ethic. Melissa and I have worked well together in the past and I believe that with the help of the entire staff we as a team are prepared to take on the job of serving the residents of St. Lawrence County through our work at the County Clerk’s Office.”
Fridel lives in Colton with her husband Kevin and their four children Hailey, Eric, Carli and Brady.
