St. Lawrence County Chamber hosting annual Tourism Dinner at Waddington’s Old Town Hall

CANTON – The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Tourism Dinner to kick off the summer tourism season Wednesday, June 14 at Waddington’s Old Town Hall.

The event will celebrate the growing industry, while recognizing two awardees. Nominations and RSVP’s can be submitted on the event page at www.SLCchamber.org.

The Tourism Awards Dinner is open to community leaders and tourism industry partners, businesses and interested parties. 

The theme of our dinner this year is 'Destination Impact' - speakers and content will focus on the sustainable impact of creating a quality destination experience. 

Opportunities to promote tourism in partnership with the St. Lawrence County Chamber and I LOVE NY will be shared. 

The ‘Best to the Guest’ Tourism Excellence award recognizes a business or organization who shows ‘commitment to an excellent guest experience, customer service, unique offerings, and attention to detail, which brings pride to St. Lawrence County. 

The award is chosen based on nominations and reviews from facebook, tripadvisor, google and yelp. 

Past recipients include (2016) Clarkson Inn; (2017) Robideau’s Mahogany Ridge; (2018) Jake’s on the Water; and (2019) Nicandri Nature Center and North Country Children’s Museum (2022).

The ‘Best Destination Marketing Initiative’ award recognizes the effort to implement an outstanding tourism marketing initiative raising awareness and attracting visitors to St. Lawrence County. 

Past recipients include (2016) Hammond Barn Quilt Trail; (2017) Mare’s Ware’s Arts Fest; (2018) Waddington Party in the Park : Bassmaster Elite Series; and (2019) Ogdensburg International Airport and TAUNY (2022).

Everyone is invited to bring their brochures, rack cards and information to a brochure swap set up at the event. 

Happy hour will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner, presentations, and awards at 6 p.m.

The cost for the event is $42 per person.
