COLTON – A 10-year-old South Colton boy injured in an ATV accident Thursday was flown to a hospital in Burlington last night.
State police said Eli Thomas of South Colton struck a tree off of Windmill Road in the town of Colton at about 5:30 p.m.
The boy suffered head and abdominal trauma, according to police.
The Air Methods LifeNet helicopter based at Potsdam’s airport was summoned and landed in Swift Field in South Colton to take the boy to Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington at about 6 p.m.
The medical air transport service returned to the North Country this month after several years’ absence.
