Periods of snow and rain, along with gusty winds are expected this afternoon into tonight as low pressure moves through the St. Lawrence Valley, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Behind this system, quieter weather returns by later tomorrow and persists into the middle portions of next week with near seasonal temperatures expected, forecasters say.
Forecasters predict a high temperature around 43 today with rain, snow and sleet possible. Winds will be 15-20 mph with gusts as high as 33 mph.
The extended forecast through next Friday is as follows:
Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow showers before 10am, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Southwest wind 16 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. West wind 6 to 11 mph.
Monday
Partly sunny, with a high near 38. West wind around 5 mph.
