POTSDAM — The Potsdam village board has approved the 2021-22 budget which features total appropriations for the general fund of $6,512,332 and a slight drop in individual tax rates for village residents.
The board approved the 2021-22 tax rate for individual residents, $18.28554 per $1,000 of assessed property value, and the budget at their meeting Monday, April 19.
The tax rate is a slight drop from the current year’s amount of $18.28746 per $1,000 of assessed value.
The village’s fiscal year begins June 1, 2021.
The numbers in the budget ended up being a little more favorable in the final version of the 2021-22 budget passed by the board than earlier preliminary incarnations.
Total tax levy in the budget for the general fund passed by the board Monday is $3,965,218 compared to $3,958,296 in the current year.
Copies of the budget are available at the village clerk’s office.
