CANTON – Canton Town Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley and Mayor Mike Dalton have postponed the joint town and village meeting scheduled for tonight, Jan. 25, due to weather and health related circumstances.
The Village of Canton will still hold a public hearing scheduled for 5:30 pm on the Restore NY Grant.
The village is seeking state funding to pay for the cost of demolition and cleanup of the dilapidated Midtown Plaza property off Miner Street if and when that property changes ownership.
The village board agreed Jan. 11 to apply for two separate Restore NY grants, $10 million and $2 million applications. If the village is awarded the grant or grants, that funding will be used to pay a demolition bill.
