State Senator Patty Ritchie is inviting people to visit a Senate web site promoting a property tax cap in the state.
The site, put up by the Republican-controlled Senate, is aimed at getting visitors to “Tell the Assembly Majority” – Democrats – to “Join the Fight” and “Pass the Tax Cap.”
“The hard working taxpayers of Central and Northern New York need action so they can afford to stay in their homes,” Ritchie said. “That’s why I voted on January 31st for Governor Cuomo's tax cap and I am urging New Yorkers to join my fight."
Through a statement from her office, Ritchie is urging families to “join her petition drive” by going to http://www.nysenate.gov/passthetaxcap or her Facebook page and fill out a form.
A tax cap proposal passed the Senate by a 45 to 17 vote but has not been taken up by the Assembly.
