NORWOOD — Some new teachers were introduced to the Norwood-Norfolk Central School Board of Education Tuesday night.

The Sept. 15 meeting was streamed live on YouTube.

“I always like to bring in our new people,” Cruikshank said. “You’ve seen their names and it’s always nice to put a face to their names.”

He introduced Marianne Augenstein, Jessica Colby, Makayla Cruikshank, Ashley Emlaw, Allison Fobare, Jessica Harvey, and Jade Varney.

Makayla Cruikshank’s grandfather is the cousin of Superintendent Cruikshank, the super explained to the board. “She is not my daughter as you know, but I’ve been asked that.”

“They’ve been in action for the last couple weeks,” he said. “They’ve come in at a difficult time and so far things are meshing, they’re not perfect, but we’re getting there.”

Cruikshank welcomed them all to the district and said more new faces are expected to be introduced to the board at future meetings.

Board members and new staff mingled for a few minutes before the meeting got back underway.
