POTSDAM -- Residents of the Potsdam Central School district approved an increase in funding for the Potsdam Public Library from $505,000 to $519,000.
The vote saw 210 people vote in favor and 65 opposed. That is an approval rate of 76 percent.
The new rate is $0.98/thousand of assessed value in the Town of Potsdam. For a home assessed at $100,000, the increase is $3. The previous library tax rate was $0.95/thousand. This cost of living increase stays within the state tax cap.
Cynthia Morin, Sandra Steinberg and David Bradford were elected to the Potsdam Board of Trustees for a three-year term commencing July 1.
