RENSSELAER FALLS — A 32-year-old Falls man faces multiple charges after he was arrested following a Oct. 1 domestic incident where he allegedly choked someone in front of a child.
Jordan M. Halladay of King Street was charged by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office with first-degree criminal contempt (Class E felony). He was also charged with the following misdemeanors: criminal obstruction of breathing, endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree criminal mischief-preventing 911 call, fourth-degree criminal mischief-damage property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and petit larceny.
The sheriff’s office said the charges were leveled after deputies and a sergeant responded to a domestic incident in Rensselaer Falls.
The office said Halladay obstructed a victim’s breathing in front of a child in violation of a no contact order of protection.
Halladay allegedly damaged the victim’s phone, prevented them from calling 911, stole their car keys and took their vehicle without permission.
He was arraigned in front of Judge Morgan in Canton town court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail.
