WATERTOWN – The American Red Cross of Northern New York is offering a Foundations of Disaster Mental Health course at the Watertown office, 203 N. Hamilton St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13.

The idea behind this course is to prepare licensed mental health professionals to provide for and respond to the psychological needs of people caught up in disaster.

The free course is a series of presentations and discussions with workbook and small group activities.

Participants are invited to bring a lunch; beverage and snacks will be provided. If participants would like to be part of the Red Cross Disaster Services Human Resource system, they should bring a current professional mental health license.

To register, call 782-4410.

If you have questions about the course, you may email instructor Vince Calcara at calcarav@yahoo.com.
