POTSDAM — Potsdam United Methodist Church Sunday School students and youth held a read-a-thon recently to raise funds for the Friday Free Lunch program, which is held at the First Presbyterian Church and sponsored by the Potsdam Interfaith Community (PIC).
The students read 49 books (6,897 pages) and raised $700.
The Friday Free Lunch program is held weekly from noon until one p.m. Lunch consists of a hot meal or sandwiches, fruit, chips and dessert. Lunch can be carried out or guests can eat at the church. The First Presbyterian Church is accessible to those with limited mobility.
The Potsdam Interfaith Community is an organization composed of more than 10 religious communities in the Potsdam area.
